Dear Mrs Gale,
We were sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Gale and to show our respects we attended the memorial service.
Mr Gale was our form master in 1957 at Hillside Junior School and we subsequently met when he attended one of our reunions held at the school in 2003.
Some time later a few of us ex pupils met with him for a drink at a pub Titchfield.
As 10 year olds we believed we were being taught by an old man. Little did we know that he was in fact a young 25 year old. Now we are seventy and have lost a good man, respected not only by us, but by all of the people who attended the memorial service.
Please accept our sincere condolences.
Barry Newman and Robert Rowe.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
